If You Accessed the myPennMedicine Patient Portal Between January 23, 2021, and January 23, 2023, You May Be Entitled to a Payment from a Class Action Settlement.

A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit claiming that Defendant, The Trustees of The University of Pennsylvania as Owner and Operator of The University of Pennsylvania Health System (d/b/a Penn Medicine), disclosed its patients’ personally identifiable information (“PII”) to third parties via tracking pixels by Meta Platforms, Inc., formerly known as Facebook, Inc. (“Meta”), Google LLC (“Google”), and other providers of tracking, analytics, and/or advertising technologies without consent, in violation of the Pennsylvania Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act, 18 Pa. Cons. Stat. § 5701, et seq. (the “WESCA”).

Defendant denies all of Plaintiffs’ claims in the lawsuit and maintains that it engaged in no wrongdoing but has agreed to the settlement to avoid the expense, burdens and uncertainties associated with continuing the case.
